Here It Comes!
It is now official. Spring has sprung! with the great weather over the past
few weeks, there has been a little work going on at the church. Yesterday was
our first "Work Day" of the year. Quite a bit was accomplished.
First, all of the flower beds are now ready for fabric, mulch and plants. All
of the old material is out, the weeds have been removed (as best we could), and
the beds are ready for planting.
The grass has been cut for the first time this season. We found that it takes
about 1hour to trim, and about 1 hour to ride. Not bad, especially if there are
two or more working on it.
The sanctuary got a good going over yesterday. The carpet and pews were
vacuumed, plus, the inside of the windows got cleaned.
All of the rooms got a good cleaning. Floors wee mopped, carpets swept, and
all of the other work that goes along with it.
After removing all of the old plants and materials, the sidewalks were
pressure washed again. It is really starting to sparkle and shine.
We did make time to have lunch yesterday. We had hot dogs on the grill, along
with sauce, nachos/cheese, and chips. "When we meet, we eat." :)
The new message got put on the sign, and the church was redecorated for
Spring with flowers and appropriate decorations.
A great big THANK YOU to all who made it possible. The sweat equity we
invested yesterday will pay dividends in the future.
Don't forget about Lord's Supper next week during the AM service, and a
special movie next Sunday Night.
Ben Boggs is preaching his first sermon tonight @6PM. Please come and join us
as we celebrate his calling to the service of The Lord.
God Bless!

Coming Up
Well, the weather this week has been wonderful (so far). The rain is on the
way, but the last two days have been great.
As we look around, we can see the rebirth all around us. The flowers poking
through, beginning their colorful show. The birds gathering material for the
nest. The new growth of the trees and bushes.
How much new growth is in us? Are we pushing through to show the world the
beautiful color of Jesus? Are we gathering material to build our faith and
security? Are we showing new growth?
Jesus said He came to bring life, and bring it more abundantly. We have vast
untapped potential in Jesus Christ. All of the new birth, faith, security, and
growth comes from Him. What we need to do is tap into it. He has it there for us
if we just ask.
As you go about your daily routine, look for opportunities to share the good
news of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Show those around you the joy that
comes from having the King of Kings in your life. Tell the world the Easter
story. Tell about the rebirth that comes from receiving Christ.
The ladies night out location has been changed. Where will be announced
Sunday morning. See you there!
God Bless!!
Friday, March 9th
Things have sure been busy this week. First we are blessed with additional
members, then we are blessed with great weather that allows us to get a few of
the little things done.
For starters, there is now a new, full length mirror in the ladies restroom.
The mirror above the sink has also been replaced. The leak under the sink has
been repaired. All of the outside fixtures have been replaced; they all match,
and work.
The sign has been cleaned and placed along the road.
God sure has a way of getting involved in our everyday lives. You can't help
but look around and see the wonder of His creation. Who do we think we are,
telling Him how to run the world He created?
Don't forget about our upcoming Movie Night, and the Recognition service for
the firefighters on the 18th. The ladies will be having a night out on the 19th
at Boston Beanery in Huntington.
REMEMBER----SPRING FORWARD THIS WEEKEND!!
God Bless!!

I Was Glad
I was glad when they said unto me, let us go to the House of THE LORD!!!
Well, we had a bevy of blessings this morning. To start, we had visitors.
That always makes us feel good. Second, Ben and Laura joined the church. Welcome
aboard, Boggs Family! Then, Ben announced his surrender to God to preach His
Word. Praise God!!
Well, we may be small, but that just goes to show that God is at work in the
heart of man every day, and every way. Since the doors have been opened, we have
seen 2 baptisms, and now a call to the ministry. What's next? God knows.
When we are at our lowest point, God is there to pick us up. At times it is
hard to keep pushing forward, but with the grace and guidance of God, you just
keep pushing. God's message does not go unheard. It does not go go ignored.
Sooner or later, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ
is LORD! It is up to us to carry the message of Christ throughout this land, and
around the world as best we can (Matt 28:19-20, Acts 1:8). It is up to us to
answer His call.
Thank you, Ben, for surrendering your life to the one who spoke this world
into existence. Amen.

What Now?
|
 |
| Dr David Price |
Pastor John Adams |
We had a great revival last weekend. Now we have to ask ourselves "what
now?". How do we go about expanding the reach of our little church in
Wheelersburg?
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells the disciples to "Go into all the world,
preaching, teaching, and baptizing...". So far, that is something we have
struggled with. We do a great job inviting our friends and family to come join
us for a special service, but aren't quite reaching our neighborhood.
During the revival, Dr Price challenged us to reach the community around us.
There is a great message for us to carry to our friends and neighbors, we just
need to do it.
Funny how a series that is supposed to be uplifting ends up a challenge,
isn't it? I guess that is one way to know that God is in it.
A special "Hello" to all the visitors we have seen over the last couple of
weeks. Please come back and enjoy yourselves!
God Bless!!
